Moira loves helping students navigate college admissions and earn acceptance to a school that is a good fit academically, socially, and financially. She works with students at every step of their journey, whether they are just starting high school, further along in their high school careers, or considering a college transfer. She guides students in discovering and celebrating both who they are and who they want to be.
Moira encourages students and families to approach college admissions with positivity. Her enthusiasm and energy for helping students is boundless. She finds the process interesting and fun and endeavors to help students find parts that they enjoy too.
Sharing her knowledge about colleges, the admissions process and current admissions trends, Moira alleviates stress and uncertainty. She creates a specific plan for each individual student and family.
Recognizing that college admissions is often a source of significant stress for teenagers, Moira became certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. She is committed to doing everything she can to make the college admissions process as healthy an experience as possible.
In her free time, Moira enjoys visiting college campuses and volunteering at Cristo Rey St. Martin, a college preparatory high school in Waukegan, Illinois, where she directly counsels students applying to college. Before working as a college counselor, she conducted undergraduate admissions interviews as a member of Northwestern University’s Alumni Admissions Council. She also enjoys volunteering with Special Spaces Illinois, an organization that creates bedroom makeovers for children with cancer, reading current fiction and spending time with her family and dogs.
